Poland | Creating Space for making Change

In cooperation with the Education for Democracy FouOn the occasion of Poland's 100th anniversary, the Nansen Peace Centre has collaborated with the telecommunications company Orange Poland to strengthen capacity building and dialogue training in the country. The goal is to provide a wide range of civil actors with skills, tools, knowledge, and practice to support their work in fostering civic attitudes, cooperation, and social capital.ndation (EDF) and other Polish civil society actors, the Nansen Peace Centre contributes to efforts to strengthen the capacity of civil society actors and organizations in Poland. The project participants have extensive experience in working with training and dissemination of dialogue methodology in Poland.

Through a multi-year project funded by the mobile phone company Orange Poland, 100 selected individuals from 2019 had the opportunity to attend courses in dialogue. 25 of these then became certified dialogue facilitators. Altogether, this network has now reached around 10,000 people and 300 organizations in Poland, benefiting from dialogue and conflict management in various ways.

Creating Space for making Change

ansen Center for Peace and Dialogue has prepared a report on dialogue work in Poland, with the aim of assessing the relevance of the tools, methods, and approaches introduced in the centre’s courses, as well as gaining a better understanding of the context in which participants work and their concerns, achievements, and challenges.
