This is a five-day process-oriented course with a series of activities where the participants actively use their own life experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MAIN COMPONENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Identity<br><\/strong>Through exercises, you will learn more about yourself and how to build trust in a group. The focus is on the importance of one\u2019s own identity in relation to others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction to Dialogue<br><\/strong>We introduce the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue\u2019s approach to dialogue and conflict transformation. Together, we explore the concept of dialogue through exercises where the participants are challenged to reflect on key elements of a dialogue process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Active Listening and the Art of Asking Good Questions<br><\/strong>We are introduced to basic dialogue skills: Active listening, sharing and asking dialogical questions. Through exercises, the participants will experience and develop these skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tools for Conflict Analysis<br><\/strong>Conflict analysis is important to understand the complexity of conflict Based on examples from the participants own experience, we apply four steps in analyzing a conflict:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mapping of the actors, their relationships and how they affect each other. This analysis also includes internal and external factors that can affect a conflict situation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The actor\u2019s positions, interests and needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyzing the roots and effects of the conflict<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying challenges, dilemmas and opportunities for change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dialogue facilitation as a Tool for Transforming Conflict<br><\/strong>We introduce and reflect on the role of dialogue facilitation in a process of conflict transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Role of the Facilitator<br><\/strong>Brief introduction to the role of a dialogue facilitator. Some participants will also have the opportunity to facilitate dialogue through role play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facilitating dialogue in role play <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on conflicts mapped and analyzed by participants we make use of role play for practicing dialogue facilitation. This provides for learning through practice, including how to give and receive feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/1jdSGLUikG\">Apply here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Who is the training suitable for? <\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participation is open for anyone interested in learning dialogue skills, and how to analyze and transform conflicts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dialogue is a way of communicating which aims to deepen and challenge our understanding of ourselves and our relation to \u201cthe other\u201d, rather than trying to convince or win with arguments and facts.
