Encuentros Nansen | Chile<\/h1>

Since the riots in 2019, the Nansen Peace Center has been working on dialogue in Chile with two main goals: to convey knowledge about dialogue, and to create meeting places for dialogue. Nineteen universities are now preparing their own national network for knowledge and research on dialogue.<\/h2><\/div>

Dialogue is not an attempt to get everyone to think the same, but about building trust despite our disagreements. In such a community of disagreement, we can live with our differences, and at the same time build trust through listening, asking, and building.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

National dialogue project i Chile<\/h2>

The Dialogue Project in Chile began in October 2019, at the request of then-President Sebasti\u00e1n Pi\u00f1era. It was later renewed by the current President Gabriel Boric. The work is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and carried out in close collaboration with over 30 local partners, including 19 universities.<\/p>\n<\/div>Les mer >><\/a>\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t

Regional dialogue project in La Araucan\u00eda<\/h2>

In 2021, the seven universities in La Araucan\u00eda, together with Bishop H\u00e9ctor Vargas, invited the Nansen Peace Center to collaborate on strengthening dialogue capacities in the region, in a context of high social tension. The Nansen Peace Centre’s dialogue team in Chile consists of five project staff members led by Alfredo Zamudio.
