Dialogue – our goal and method<\/h1>

The mission of Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue is to promote dialogue to counter polarization, conflicts, and social exclusion. Our work is based on a simple but demanding idea: Lasting peace is created by strengthening human relationships.<\/h2><\/div>

Nansen Peace Center has developed its own methodology for three types of dialogue:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

People’s dialogue<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitation of dialogue<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dialogue courses offered by Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue are designed as a ladder with three levels \u2013 from beginner, through advanced, to expert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants who choose to take dialogue courses at all three levels qualify for Training of Trainers \u2013 which provides the foundation to organize dialogue courses themselves and teach the Nansen Peace Center’s dialogue methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants in dialogue courses organized by the Nansen Peace Center are invited to join our global alumni network, Pockets of Peace. The goal of Pockets of Peace is to gather, connect, and nurture small and large pockets of peace in the world into a big and growing dialogue community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeg tror at det er p\u00e5 grasrota at vi finner den ekte dialogen, den som handler om samhold og at vi sammen kan ordne opp i utfordringene. Og jeg tror at det \u00e5 undervise i metoder for dialog er viktig for \u00e5 bringe folk sammen og skape et varig godt og trygt samfunn.<\/h3>

En nyttig erfaring med dagen p\u00e5 Nansen Fredssenter var \u00e5 f\u00e5 vite mer om meningene til de andre i klassen. Det igjen p\u00e5virker hvordan jeg ordlegger meg dersom vi senere en gang diskuterer lignende tema. Jeg blir kanskje mer forsiktig og passer p\u00e5 at jeg ikke forn\u00e6rmer noen.<\/h3>

Den lyttende og sp\u00f8rrende metoden jeg l\u00e6rte hos Nansen Fredssenter har fungert veldig bra under m\u00f8tene jeg har deltatt i etter kurset. Jeg bruker n\u00e5 litt ekstra tid p\u00e5 \u00e5 oppdage og finne mer ut av hva som ligger bak folks meninger, og sp\u00f8rre deltakerne om \u00e5 fortelle mer.<\/h3>

Mitt st\u00f8rste l\u00e6ringsutbytte er hvordan jeg kan fasillitere og delta i en dialog, uten \u00e5 sette egne meninger foran andres. Jeg klarte \u00e5 ta inn tankene til folk og lytte til dem b\u00e5de med varsomhet og empati, noe jeg aldri opplever i en debatt eller diskusjon.<\/h3>
