As dialogue creates space for people\u00b4s personal thoughts, emotions, experiences, and world views \u2013 it enables us to build or rebuild relationships, as well as becoming better communicators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This training is for you who is interested in exploring the potential of dialogue to transform conflicts into opportunities, regardless of educational background or profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TRAINING CONTENT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This training is an introductory program and is a composition of topics relevant for applying dialogue as an approach to transform conflicts, including tools for communication and conflict analysis. It is a five-day process-oriented course and consists of interactive exercises where the participants bring in their own experiences from various fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main components in the program are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Identity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exercises for learning to know oneself and others and building group trust. Focus on the importance of identity in communication and as an entry point to a dialogical approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introduction to the concept of dialogue<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introduction to the Nansen approach to dialogue as a method and platform for change. Further exploration of the concept through exercises where participants are challenged to reflect upon different aspects of a meaningful dialogue process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deep listening and the art of asking questions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Familiarization with the most fundamental tools in dialogue: deep listening and asking dialogical questions. Through interactive exercises the participants will experience and practice these tools and reflect on how to improve in these important skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tools for conflict analysis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conflict analysis is the basis for creating a transformative dialogue process. Participants will use examples of conflicts from their own life experiences in practicing and executing the three stages of analysis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mapping of the actors, their relationships and how they influence each other. External and internal factors that are directly or indirectly linked are included in the analysis.<\/li><li>Analysis of the root causes and the main problem of the conflict.<\/li><li>The actors\u2019 position, interest and needs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dialogue as a tool in conflict transformation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introduction and reflection about the role of dialogue in a conflict transformation process. This part of the program gives participants insight into conflict transformation theory and how dialogue is embedded in this approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basic understanding of the role of the facilitator<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Short introduction to the role of the facilitator. Participants are thus not eligible for certification. They will, however, receive a training certificate upon completion issued by the NCPD with information about training content etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What does the training fee include?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training fee includes accommodation and three meals for the whole training period, including the Sunday before it starts. Participants are responsible for covering all expenses of travel, insurance, and visa issuance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Are there any requirements to enter this training?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants of this training are selected in an application process based on motivation, background, and availability. However, since this training is introductory, there are no formal requirements to join the training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Does the training start Monday or Sunday?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training starts on Monday morning, but we recommend everyone to arrive the prior Sunday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Does the NCPD offer scholarships for trainings?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally, the NCPD is not able to offer scholarships to participants outside our cooperation partners and existing network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>How often is this training held?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This training is an annual training held once every year in Lillehammer. The NCPD does offer tailored trainings to groups and organizations throughout the year, read more about that here.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What is the difference between the two trainings?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dialogue in Conflict is an introductory training in dialogue and conflict analysis suitable for almost all, whereas Dialogue Facilitation is an advanced training for those who want to learn more about, and practice, the role of the dialogue facilitator.
