For many years, the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue (NCPD) has trained people around the world in dialogue and conflict transformation. Our handbook, Dialogue in Conflicts, has been translated into multiple languages and supported many people to implement the Nansen approach in their local communities.

Now, we are taking the next step by offering this pilot course, designed for experienced dialogue practitioners ready to train others. Participants will deepen their understanding of the theoretical foundations of the Nansen approach, explore the values and competencies of effective trainers, and learn how to design and implement impactful training programs. The course also addresses strategies for managing challenging participants, ensuring you’re well-prepared for real-world applications.

Course Methodology: Our participatory and interactive approach ensures a dynamic learning experience. While the course includes a few lectures, most of the time will be spent in group work, practical exercises, and peer reflections. You will receive ongoing feedback from experienced trainers and fellow participants.

Participant Commitment: Applicants must commit to conducting at least one training session (1-3 days) on Dialogue and Conflict Transformation in their community, organization, or institution.
